Professor Phil Tower, M.A., is proud to have served as an adjunct faculty member in
the Communications Department at Aquinas College for the past 25 years. While at Aquinas
he has taught Understanding Mass Media, Introduction to Communication, and Introduction
to Radio Production. He holds both undergraduate and Masters Degrees from Central
Michigan University.
Phil's 35 years in broadcasting includes various on-air roles at numerous stations
through Central and Western Michigan, as well as radio companies in Cleveland, Buffalo,
and Minneapolis. He has also served as Station Manager for non-commercial community
radio station WYCE-FM in Grand Rapids and as General Manager for the Atlanta-based,
nationally-syndicated Allen Hunt Radio Show. Phil currently serves as director of
news and programming for iHeartmedia's WOOD AM & FM Radio, and TALK 1230 WTKG in Grand
Rapids.
Phil is active in his community as board member for the Spectrum Health Foundation,
the Greenville Area Community Foundation, GVSU's Student Media Advisory Board, and
as an advisory board member for the College of The Arts and Media at Central Michigan
University.
