(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.) - Aquinas College will host a series of events in February in honor of Black History Month. The public is invited to take part in these events.

A Reading of “The Meeting”
Thursday, February 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Wege Center Ballroom, 1607 Robinson Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506
Cost: Admission is free with a suggested $20 donation
In collaboration with Ebony Road Players, "The Meeting,” a play by Jeff Stetson, depicts the fictional meeting of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X. Differing in their philosophies, the two men debate their varying approaches to the same social problems.

“A Celebration of Spirituals and Gospel Songs”

Cost: Free
The Aquinas Music Department celebrates Black History Month with a concert featuring the Aquinas College Chorus and Women’s Chorus.

Soul Food Sunday
Sunday, February 15 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Wege Center Ballroom, 1607 Robinson Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506
Cost: Free
Learn about the history of African-American cuisine while enjoying a plate of authentic soul food. Evening entertainment is also provided.
