Grand Rapids, Mich. – The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA)
recently released its annual candidate performance book, which features comprehensive
statistical data from all four testing windows of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant
(CPA) Examination. Aquinas College is ranked in the top 3 percent of all accounting
programs in the country based on the 2014 CPA Exam pass rate.
Aquinas was ranked 5th out of 257 institutions with small programs and 20th out of 776 institutions in the nation. Aquinas was also one of only two schools in the state ranked in the top 20 schools, the other being the University of Michigan.
“We are very excited and very proud of our graduates,” said Accounting Department Chair Cindy VanGelderen. “We have worked hard to make the accounting program at Aquinas strong and rigorous for our students; it is great to see that we have made significant strides toward that goal.”
The accounting program at Aquinas is taught by CPA-certified faculty. It offers students the option of a business/accounting dual major, which earns them a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, or a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy degree, which meets all of the academic qualifications for CPA licensure in Michigan.
