The Aquinas College club Students Against the Violation of the Environment (S.A.V.E.) is putting on a celebration to educate and involve the community about issues concerning our planet. Local organizations and businesses and Aquinas College clubs will have tables set up with information about their cause(s), how it relates to the environment, and why it is important to the community. The local organizations and businesses, who have previously attended include the Sierra Club, the Land Conservatory of West Michigan, West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC), Clean Water Action Council, and Hemp Goods. Aquinas College clubs who have previously attended include the Social Action Committee (S.A.C.), the Aquinas College Democrats, and Habitat for Humanity.


There will be live music throughout the day and guest speakers. The guest speaker (TBA) will start the event speaking at 1 p.m. At 2 p.m. the local band Happy Hour starts out the afternoon of music. Local rock band The Sleeves will take the stage next at 3:30 p.m. Sweet Japonic will finish out the afternoon of music starting at 5 p.m.


Admission is free and open to all members of the community. It is recommended that people park their vehicles in the Wege Center Lot off White Pine Lane or Fulton Lot off Fulton Street. Free T-shirts will be available to the first 100 people.
