Aquinas College is proud to partner with Metro Health for a brand new Farm Market
on campus. The weekly open-air market will host a diverse array of vendors selling
fresh fruits, vegetables, breads, plants, flowers and other locally grown and produced
foods, as well as handcrafted artisan items.
The Metro Health/Aquinas College Farm Market will be open on Monday afternoons from
2:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the Browne Center Parking lot on the Aquinas College Campus. It
starts May 12 and will run through August 18. The Browne Center is located at 2001
Robinson Road. You can enter the parking lot from Robinson or Woodward Lane. There
will be free parking available in spaces not utilized by the market and in nearby
lots. >Download the Campus Map (pdf)
Like the summer market at Metro Health Village in Wyoming, Michigan, the Metro Health/Aquinas
College Farm Market will accept Project Fresh and Senior Project Fresh/Market Fresh
Coupons, which are state of Michigan programs that encourage eating healthy fruits
and vegetables by offering coupons redeemable at farm markets to residents on food
assistance. The market will also offer Double Up Food Bucks to shoppers using their
Michigan Bridge Card.
Metro Health and Aquinas College share a commitment to healthy living and sustainability
and will utilize the weekly market to share helpful information with the public. The
new farm market is part of a growing relationship between Metro Health and Aquinas
College that includes a student health center and sports medicine care for student
athletes.
