"Quilters" is a study the women who came before us. These are the pioneers who braved massive plains and monstrous mountains, facing daily threats of starvation, unbearable cold, and death, to claim for their family a piece of homestead. Through this musical, we explore their stories; told by Sarah McKendree Bonham, and her seven daughters, as they piece together their legacy quilt. Block by block it is revealed that in a rough, brown, cold, and lonely environment, it is quilts that brought forth comfort, beauty, warmth and friendship.
