A Photo Exhibit Prepared by the Polish Information Agency and Presented by the Consulate General of Poland to be Displayed at Aquinas College

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN (December 22, 2003) - The photo exhibit "Poland - The Homeland of Pope John Paul II" will be on display in the Aquinas College Art and Music Center from Monday, January 12 through Sunday, February 1. The Art and Music Center is open Monday-Thursday, 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.; Friday, 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 2:00-6:00 p.m. The exhibit is free.

The exhibition highlights Pope John Paul II and his visits to Poland. It takes you on a trip to Poland, showing some of its most beautiful places, from the Tatra Mountains to the Baltic Sea. It presents the homeland of John Paul II, a beautiful country of variable landscapes and rich traditions. The exhibit will show Polish Americans the beauty of their native land of their fathers. It will be at the same time an excellent invitation for the Americans to visit the country of John Paul II. It also shows the Pope's passion for tourism and presents many unique pictures of young Karol Wojtyla. The commentary to the photos is written both in Polish and in English.

The exhibit premiered in Rome in autumn last year. Recently it was shown in Toronto, Canada during World Youth Days and in Washington D.C. during the visit of the Polish President to the United States. From September 23 to October 1 the exhibit was shown at Archer Heights
Branch of Chicago Public Library. In October, the exhibit was presented at James R. Thompson Center, Downtown Chicago.
