Accelerated Master of Science in Chemistry

You don’t have to wait until commencement to start working on your graduate degree. Aquinas College has a fast-track to your advanced degree. Through the accelerated bachelor’s to master’s degree program, you can earn credit hours toward a master’s degree from Western Michigan University.

• Earn up to 12 credit hours toward a master’s degree from Western Michigan University while completing your bachelor’s degree at Aquinas College.

How It Works

Aquinas College students may be able to transfer six undergraduate credits (non-entry level) from AQ toward the WMU Master of Arts (MA) in Chemistry degree. 

Additionally, AQ students may also be able to transfer three more undergraduate credits by examination based on advanced level course work at AQ towards WMU MA degree. Combined, students may acquire a maximum of nine credits that can be applied toward a master's degree from Western Michigan University.

Students applying to this program are eligible for a WMU application fee and GRE waiver.

1) Six credits can be transferred to WMU from AQ with the successful completion of any combination of the following courses with a grade of B or better from AQ:

• CHEM 330 Instrumental Methods of Analysis
• CHEM 321 Advanced Organic Chemistry
• CHEM 322 Advanced Inorganic Chemistry

2) Credit by examination: a maximum of three credit hours based on the evaluation of the final writing projects for CHEM 401 Chemistry Project Development / CHEM 402 Chemistry Practicum may be applied toward a master's degree at WMU. WMU Department of Chemistry Faculty will determine the basis for evaluation and the awarding of credit.
