Aquinas College alumna Colleen Lamoreaux-Tate is reveling in a well-deserved victory
as the coach of the Grand Rapids Catholic Central Girl's Basketball team which captured
the Michigan Girl's Class B State Championship title win over the weekend.
Lamoreaux-Tate '93, a former Lady Saint Basketball player, took her team into the state Class B finals on Saturday against Number One-ranked Detroit Country Day School. The 51-43 win was Catholic Central's 26th in a row. It was sweet revenge for Lamoreaux-Tate who has had two of her teams lose to the Country Day Yellow jackets in state final games. The Catholic Central Cougars lost to Country Day in last year's final game and Lamoreaux-Tate's East Grand Rapids Pioneer girl's team lost in to the Yellow jackets in 2002.

On a related note, another Lady Saints basketball alumna, Char Broersma-Muller '96 - a teammate of Colleen Lamoreaux-Tate - was named the Michigan High School Class A Coach of the Year. Broersma-Muller is head coach of the girl's basketball squad at Grand Rapids Christian Schools.
