Aquinas College students will be among hundreds of their peers from other West Michigan
colleges looking for some advice and inspiration from successful young entrepreneurs
who are part of a tour stopping in Grand Rapids. It's the first and only tour of its
kind nationwide. The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour will take place on Tuesday, March
30 at DeVos Place from 3 to 7 p.m.
The tour features successful young entrepreneurs who have created or sold companies
they started while in their 20’s. They have become successful at a young age and look
to share the secrets of their success. Among those involved are Will Pearson, president
and co-founder of the magazine Mental Floss, and Blake Ross, the creator of Firefox.
Traveling the country by bus, the group visits colleges, universities and other organizations.
The event features keynote speakers telling their stories and giving advice for those
with an entrepreneurial mind. Small workshops and networking sessions follow, where
students are given a chance to meet successful entrepreneurs and connect with other
college students.
The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour’s goal is to reach out to as many people as possible,
not just business majors. The tour hopes that every college student in America graduates
with an entrepreneurial mindset. Representatives of both for-profit businesses as
well as non-profit organizations are part of the tour.
For the first time ever, a group of schools, including Aquinas, have come together
for one large tour stop. Representatives from area schools have worked together to
get the word out about the tour. The event, which is being organized by the Collegiate
Entrepreneurs Network (CEN), expects more than 600 students from around West Michigan
to attend. Students of all area colleges and universities are invited to attend. The
event is free to all Aquinas students who register.
