The Aquinas College SIFE team is launching a Golden Shoe Campaign to promote a healthy lifestyle through the use of the new Campus Trails. The kickoff event will be held on October 30 at 9 a.m. at the Campus Trails’ entrance by the Performance Art Center, 1730 Robinson Road SE. Activities for this event include a walking tour along with a raffle for a new pair of shoes. The new Campus Trails gives the surrounding community the chance to enjoy exercise in nature without leaving Grand Rapids.

The Golden Shoe Campaign event is inspired by the Healthy Kent 2010 Campaign which encouraged people live a healthy life. AQ SIFE is teaming up with Aquinas College Health and Wellness Services to carry on the mission. Additional activities are to follow this event in the months ahead. Aquinas College students have a chance to participate in monthly calorie burning competitions for students. By endorsing light exercise on the Campus Trails for the surrounding community the Aquinas College SIFE team expects to build a healthy and enjoyable environment for all.

The Aquinas College SIFE team has been operating on campus for nine years. Currently Aquinas College SIFE team has over fifty members working on twelve projects to help the community.
