Féte de la Culture Française, a festival celebrating French culture, will take place
at the Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts (UICA) on Saturday, February 21. The festival
is sponsored by Aquinas College along with Calvin College, Grand Rapids Community
College, and Grand Valley State University, which is organizing the event.
Admission grants access to a number of activities including chocolate and wine tasting,
sampling of French desserts and cheese, the showing of French film, a French workshop,
live accordion music, a theatrical performance, and an art exhibit featuring works
from six notable artists including Vincent Van Gogh and Mary Cassatt. A silent auction
and a French marketplace will offer additional items for purchase.
The event is open to the public and free for all Aquinas students, staff, and faculty(with
ID); there is a $10 admission fee for adults and a $5 admission fee for students of
non-sponsoring schools. RSVP is recommended to guarantee admission.
