The Aquinas College Student Programming Board are co-sponsors with the Special Olympics
for the 2010 East Grand Rapids Polar Plunge to be held at John Collins Park on Reeds
Lake, Lakeside Drive SE, on Saturday, February 20. Proceeds and donations from the
event will go to Special Olympics Michigan, which supports year-round sports training
and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Michigan.
Donations can be made online.
Registration begins at East Grand Rapids High School at 11 a.m., with a pre-plunge party at 12 noon. The plunge will take place at 12:45 a.m.. The Polar Plunge is traditionally a costume contest, and participants are encouraged to wear their best costumes. An awards ceremony with snacks and hot cocoa will follow the plunge.
