Student Members to Discuss Upcoming Energy Conference

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN (November 3, 2010) – The Aquinas College chapter of Students
In Free Enterprise (SIFE) will host a press conference to discuss the upcoming event
on energy efficiency on Tuesday, November 9, at 9:30 a.m. in Academic Building Room
22, Aquinas College, 1607 Robinson Rd. SE, Grand Rapids. This event is open to the
public and all local media.
The SIFE Aquinas chapter will be holding the energy conference on Saturday, November
13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Aquinas College Wege Student Center Ballroom. The
event is free for college students and requires a pre-registration fee of $10 (before
November 6) or a final registration fee of $20 per participant.
Throughout the day-long event which includes an introduction by Chad Gunnoe, Ph.D.,
provost of Aquinas College and Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell, SIFE student members
as well as local business owners will host informative workshops that focus on sustainability
and home improvement. The keynote speaker, U.S. Congressman Vern Erhlers will discuss
“Home Energy Efficiency” and additional speakers will address topics such as Job Opportunities
in Energy Efficiency and Contractor/Home relationship. SIFE students anticipate the
conference will enhance public awareness of energy conservation.
